The Dream Picnic

Flip-flopping in sandals down the beach
Worn picnic tote vibrant with silverware
The useful mosquito repellent shines hot
As I make my way to lovers’ secret corner
With Keats’ sonnets tucked under my arm

  1. I am not sure I would take poetry to he beach with me, but whatever turns you on. I prefer to be curled up and be at one with a poets words and not have gulls and boisterous kids with balls or kites interfering with my mind as well as the greedy seabirds. However if you can find a secret cove of your own…fine!

    1. Hence the lover’s secret corner. 🙂 I hardly picnic in open spaces because I just don’t like crowded places. So, taking a book along to read or a notebook to draft my own poems while enjoying good weather always bring great joy!
