Excellent question and rumination Khaya! When we ask, we get an answer, whether we respond to it or not. Thanks so much for sharing this moment to pause sistah girlfriend. 😘🥂😍💖😊
Thanks, girl! I agree, this prompt is an excellent question. It’s lends itself to profound ruminations about life, and especially the role of poetry as we try to “write right” this month. 🙂
I’ll give you a fist bump on that one Khaya! 🤜🏼🤛🏼 I concur sistah queen! 👑
What else can a poem do, indeed!!!! Sigh.
If writing cannot save us from ourselves, I don’t know what can!
I’m with you there, Christina. Even when I know my insignificant jottings are not going to do much for the world, I still write and continue to do so. Because the act of writing is both a joy and cathartic release. So, here’s to writing and saving ourselves from ourselves! 🙂
