Purposeful Exploration of Life

to capture beauty and share joy is blasphemy.
challenging the decree by gods of productivity
is to explore life before living it with purpose.

to shut the world outside, pause, roam around
the imaginary world is an escapist privilege,
a fleeting respite from an over-scheduled life.

too many “don’ts” like bad news dictate the days.
with each word written, the weight of expectation
lifts, and with each breath comes a deep release.

perhaps, it’s the sheer delight of erasing a blinking.
a cursor on a blank screen is all the wrong reasons
to live out loud, but I’d rather be happy than right.

  1. to shut the world outside, pause, roam around
the imaginary world is an escapist privilege, – so right and well said… but it is OK if people only want to do that, as long as they realize the privilege maybe, that so many others can’t shut out the horrors happening to/around them.
