Two at the back
One at the front
In full sway;
Spring a season
For graduations.
Note: Poem was inspired by the Midweek Motif, “bicycles, tricycles or unicycles” at Poets United. I’m also linking it to the Tuesday Platform at Imaginary Garden with Real Toads.

“Full” and “Sway” clarify the humor of your poem, along with the illustration.
Glad you find the humour, Susan. 🙂
Very interesting tanka Khaya
Much love…
Thanks Gillena!
I can hear the laughter in the lines. Lovely. 🙂
A good laugh lights up the world! 🙂
Most exquisite tanka, Khaya ❤️
Thank you, dear Sanaa.♥
Luckily that void of inanity between youth and adulthood is normally quite short…for most; the rest become politicians.
Oh no, not politicians. 🙂 I would rather see those years of youth and playfulness last a little longer!
It’s a big step, from tricycle to bicycle. I remember how terrified I was. Cool photo, too.
Thank you, Sherry!
Appropriate poem for this picture 🙂
Laughter in small doses. 😀
For being so short, it makes you think. Like the picture too.
Thanks Rob!
Spring is the time for graduations. I am attending two this year. I also liked the photo.
Ah, what lovely times! Enjoy the celebrations. 🙂
A wonderful musing.. made me wonder why the bike was abandoned
Perhaps, the owner lost that graceful ability to glide gently down the slope. 🙂
Lovely tanka, khaya!
Many thanks, Panchali!
I would say they all tumbled off and ended up in the water.
That’s my guess too, Rall. 🙂
What a nice looking bicycle to end up in the lake! Makes me wonder what happened that made it end up there. Makes me think.
Hi Bekkie! We live next to a university, and a sight of abandoned bicycles is rather common at this time of the year. Lots of celebrations underway with end of year term, celebrations and a prelude to our short but vibrant summer here. 🙂
That is a real interesting image!
Great words you wrote! I’m smiling! Big Hugs!
Thank you kindly, Stacy. Big Hugs!
Spring is a season for graduations in Finland if i recall right.
Yes it is, Raili. And we’re already looking forward to Summer holidays. 🙂
