The main focus of this blog is poetry. I share some of my poems, drafts or excerpts. More often that not, I rewrite or edit to publish them somewhere else.

ABOUT PORI JAZZ: I went for #Sting, reconnected wi ABOUT PORI JAZZ: I went for #Sting, reconnected with #GregoryPorter, found #LitkuKlemetti, was charmed by #LadyBlackbird and I came back with #Maxwell. Such were my favourites at the #porijazz this year! 🎷💃🏾

Maxwell, though…💖💫 I still get goosebumps when I hear the song “Lifetime” from his album “Now” released in 2001.

It takes me back to a time, when a friend and I first heard the song on the radio, and drove all over Johannesburg hunting for the album’s CD. We knew neither the artist nor the song. But we could sing the chorus! 😀

Like romantic relationships, not all friendships last a lifetime. You learn to let go when the friendship no longer nourishes you, but you can always cherish the memories. 👥

That's the story behind my poem, "The Empty Chair" in the poetry collection #TheSheltering available where books are sold. 📚

Now, do you still need more convincing that poetry is life?😘
