And what is love?
Surely not the fleeting butterflies in summer.
It’s your everydayness that gets
My fingers twirling absentmindedly
Tracing contours of a body on fire.
Blow me a kiss, then!
For I love your company.
And what is love?

It’s your everydayness that gets
My fingers twirling absentmindedly
Tracing contours of a body on fire.

Wonderful … as always … Beautiful!
Oooh this is absolutely stunning!!β€οΈ Khaya π welcome back! I love the idea of ‘everydayness’ symbolizing feelings of love! Such a deeply contemplative poem π and oh those candles are just divine! (I too am enthusiastic when it comes to candles) Thank you so much for participating! It’s so good to have you with us!β€οΈ
Lots of love,
Sanaa
I love this image…the flicker of love, the tiny light it gives.
“It’s you everydayness.” Love that!
If a kiss comes knocking on your door, let it in–it’s from me. I just couldn’t help myself, after your poem asked so beautifully.
This is lovely!
Nice!
What a beautiful love poem Khaya π I love candles too!
Beautiful, Khaya…powerful and slightly brazen ‘Blow me a kiss, then!’! I really like this. Yeah, another candle fan; I just love the light from them, so dreamy, the mind drifting with ease and creating a lovely cosy atmosphere. PS> I would like but for some reason the ‘likes’ are not loading on my computer. Consider it very much LIKED!! ?
Ah yes; i agree, Love is – an everyday thing
much love…
Butterflies are nice, but you’re right. Love made of stronger stuff just enriches the soul.
It has to start somewhere. Wonderful write!
Hank

Thank you so much! I appreciate you reading.
Oh yes, isn’t a candle something to marvel at! Thanks sweet Sanaa.

Thank you, Suzie!
Thanks Maga! I caught the kiss as it floats past.?
??
There’s somethinvg about atmosphere candles create; cosyness. I’m glad you enjoyed this piece, Annika. About the “like” button, I really have no idea what’s issue. I thought I fixed the problem, and it looks functional on my side. But thank you once again for taking time to leave a comment.??
Lovely for you to drop by, Gillena. Much appreciated!
It does enrich the soul, indeed, Rommy!
Thank you, Hank!
What can I say! I’m a romantic at heart.? Unfortunately, I’m still battling this terrible flu, it’s stubborn. Thanks for love and hugs, dear Stacy!
Thank you, Raili!
Beautiful, Khaya. I love the “lightness” in this. π
Thanks Diana! Maybe I should write more about love.?
