An Alternate Reality

In reality, life is a spectacle
but doom-scrolling is a menace.
With each swipe and click, it’s quick
down the rabbit hole into darkness
where bizarre and illogical experiences
manifest into anxiety, ceremonious
as we leave this material world behind.

Yes, it can be a horrible rabbit hole… but I hope people can find the balance between learning and engaging with dark subjects (war/ climate/ health…) and still retaining perspective… to dismiss them altogether might be to live inside a bubble… everyday we have to recalibrate… and bring the darkness into the light through art and poetry and conversation… ideally!!!! 🙂
