endowed with nine tails, she shapes
her world. shape-shifting powers
ignite fires in arms of suitors
a dream manifests
past and future
illusion of the grandeur
here and now
moment for the enchantress
witty and foxy she plays not
in the sun but courts the night
and forever young
she will be.

I loves foxies!!! Can’t wait to see the latest cubs playing in the street under a full moon 😀 XXX
Cute cubs under a full moon, that’d a sight to behold 🙂
ignite fires in arms of suitors
a dream manifests…
Oooh fiesty!! ❤
Spells that enchant. 🙂
I’m very unacquainted with Japanese folklore and mythology – but you have given me a delightful; glimpse.
I’m glad you enjoyed Rosemary. Me too, I’m not familiar with Japanese folklore. I had to do some reading. 🙂
Oh yes, kitsune are one of the most famous of the legendary creatures from Japan (though this sort of fox spirit has left legends in several other Asian countries, including Korea and China). You’ve caught their mysterious and seductive side quite well!
Fascinating stuff, isn’t it! Thank you to your birthday, now I’ve learned something new, Japanese mythology and legends. Must say Kitsune sounds charming with her seductive powers. 🙂
I love the twist on this, Khaya. The shapeshifter enchantress who prefers the nightly court of the fox. This is wonderful!
Thank you kindly 🙂
“…witty and foxy” forevermore! Love how yummy this is. The idea of a fox skulking around at night, sharing her wit and beauty with the moon, learning from every season.
Fantastic!
Thank you dear Magaly! I’m now quite fascinated by Kitsune’s magical powers. I’ll be reading up more on Japanese mythology, thanks to your challenge.♥
This makes me sooo very happy! ♥♥♥
I see we’re both fans of the Nine-Tailed One!
Yes indeed, we are Debra :-). I especially love the artwork you paired your poem with. Such charming creatures!
The grandeur of the here and now moment, how often we forget to notice! Thank you for such a beautiful reminder!
Yes, here and now moments are for the living!
Japanese legends and myths – totally new to me! I love the last 2 lines : forever young she will be. I honestly thought at first you were writing about a cat! Excuse my ignorance…
It’s new to me as well, but very fascinating!
That blood sucker..mesmerizing the suitors into stupor 😉
😀
She sounds like a sting, magical would in control of her own destiny – a crisp and wonderful poem
Sorry strong not string :~
Thanks Jae! She inspires, indeed.:-)
Poetry….the original magic spell….at work right here!
