Some days you swallow a crocodile
Other days a crocodile swallows you
Each day nestles delight and pain
Eternal is not promised
But profound strength of human spirit
Reflects truth. Never give up!
The fight for own sanity can be ferocious
But I dare face the crocodile head on.
“Somedays you swallow a crocodile, Other days a crocodile swallows you” this is everything, you have just described my whole life in two lines.
Life in a nutshell, indeed.
We all have our own crocodiles to fight! May we conquer them 🙂
Yes, I agree. We all have our own. Thanks for reading, Raili. 🙂
When I see crocodiles I think shoes. It’s the only way to ignore his tears!
Sounds like brilliant revenge, KC! 😀
You got it perfectly with those first two lines.. sometimes it’s not just one croc, it’s the whole damned swamp!!!
“the whole damned swamp”, I know right! Thank you always for reading.
I loved the opening two lines of this poem, they really grabbed my attention.
Thanks, John!
Challenges, challenges; gotta meet and wrestle for the win
much love…
Gotta meet them head on, indeed. Much love to you, Gillena.
I love “the strength of human spirit reflects truth.” Wonderful!
Many thanks, Sherry!
Yeah. It varies. Some days you get the gold other days you are down on the road. I love your last line. kinda triumphant.

An encouraging inspirational poem to face your fears
We have to face them Marja, otherwise they might defeat us.
The human spirit is strong and resilient. Beautifully written!
Thanks, Bev!
So very true and beautifully spoken!
I appreciate, Carrie. Thank you!
Living is all about the dance–some days we leave easily, other days we have to fight just to stay on our feet… but every day, we live.
Every day, we live…love that!
“…But profound strength of human spirit / Reflects truth…”. A wonderful phrase, Khaya!
Many thanks Sarah for reading!

Thanks to you too Sumana for the inspiration.
Worrying about such things is futile, life is short enough without being fearful all the time.
True that, life is short. And we face fearful odds along the way. Thank you always for reading, Robin!
i would prefer to swallow the crocodile, but sometimes my mouth just isn’t big enough!
I can relate. 🙂
Ah, facing a crocodile head on takes courage, but it is the only way…..
Yes it takes courage, Mary!
Really like those first two lines; they describe life in a nutshell.
