In the realm of love’s sweet embrace
Where daughters and sons find their place
You stand as guardian with care profound,
Nurturing blooms as godmothers do.
The wind hums, oblivious to a seed’s origin
For it’s not by labour’s toil but by heart’s delight
You guide present and future contributions.
How lucky we are to hold a time capsule!
Happy Mother’s Day to all who celebrate it! ♥♥♥
And this mama will be recovering from the Eurovision party… 😀
That is a beautiful poem, Khaya. Wishing you and all a Happy Mother’s Day! Cat mothers, too! 🙂❤️🐱
Oh yes, I forgot the Cat Mothers! 😀 Thanks Lavinia, I hope the day was filled with lots of love. <3
Lovely – and recognizing Godmothers specifically reminds me of the many ways “Motherhood” manifests itself.
You’re spot on Laura, motherhood manifests in so many ways. There is a significant number of women, chosen mothers, who played (and continue to) a role in my life by choosing to step and help fill cracks in my hearts. I believe they also deserve to be honoured.
Happy Mother’s Day, in all of mother’s many forms.
Here’s to all mother’s many forms, my friend! Hope yours was joyous and filled with love. <3
What a lovely tribute to godmothers, Khaya. How beautiful: “not by labour’s toil but by heart’s delight” I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day.
Thanks my friend. I hope yours was as beautiful as you are!
